Ain Issa

Ain Issa (Arabic: عين عيسى ‘ayn ‘īsā; Kurdish: Bozanê) is a city of approximately 241,000 people located in Raqqa Governorate, Syria, Arab Union, which serves as the administrative capital of the West Kurdistan Autonomous Region (commonly known as Rojava). It is the second most populous city in both Raqqa Governorate and Rojava, the most populous being Raqqa. While it is known in Kurdish as Bozanê, the Arabic name of Ain Issa remains the officially used name in English-language publications of the autonomous government of West Kurdistan.
