The Alberta Police Service (APS) is the primary law enforcement agency for the Canadian province of Alberta, responsible for policing the entire province, from rural areas, small towns, and hamlets to major cities and urban areas. The only other law enforcement agency in Alberta is the Alberta Sheriff's Office, which is responsible for handling individuals post-arrest: prisoners and other persons in custody on remand. Provincial prisons in Alberta are operated by the Alberta Corrections Directorate, which is not considered a proper law enforcement agency as it only has authority within prisons and similar institutions.

The Alberta Police has a total of 27,330 personnel: 21,792 sworn constables, and 5540 civilians, making it the fifth-largest law enforcement agency in the county (after the RCMP, Ontario Police, Quebec Police and British Columbia Police). The APS has its headquarters in Downtown Edmonton, adjacent to the Supreme Court of Alberta.
