The Arab Army Primary Reserve (Arabic: احتياطي الجيش العربي الأوّل aḥtiyāṭī al-jaysh al-‘arabī al-awwal) is the main reserve component of the Arab Army, the land warfare branch of the Arab Union's military, the Union Defence Forces. Its members are the most highly trained of the three currently operational reserve components of the Arab Army, and always the first to be called upon for active duty in the event that the regular Arab Army should require additional manpower. Of the nearly 1.45 million army reservists in the Arab Union, the 788,990 enrolled in the Primary Reserve were the only reserve component of the Arab Army to be called upon to serve in wartime until mid-2014, well into the fourth year of the 2011–19 Arab Winter, when reservists of the Arab Army Secondary Reserve and in 2015 reservists of the Arab Army Tertiary Reserve were called upon for active duty.
