The Arab Bank (Arabic: المصرف العربي al-maṣrif al-ʿarabī) is the central bank and monetary authority of the Arab Union. Chartered in 1960 under the Monetary Reserve Act, the Arab Bank manages the nation's currency and monetary policy and oversees the commercial banking system, controlling the country's money supply as the sole issuing authority of the Union dinar. It provides banking services to the government and state enterprises, loans money to financial institutions, and sets national interest rates. Sabih al-Masri is the current governor of the Arab Bank. The headquarters building of the Arab Bank is the National Vault in Nasser City, located at the northwest corner of Burj al-Bankam Square, The Commons, directly opposite the National Bourse.
