Artillery Heights Prison (Arabic: سجن جبال المدفعية sijn jibāl al-midfaʿīyah), officially the Military Administrative Detention Centre, Artillery Heights (مركز الاحتجاز الإداري العسكري – جبال المدفعية markaz al-iḥtijāz al-idārī al-ʿaskarī – jibāl al-midfaʿīyah), is a military prison operated by the Arab Union's Military Police Directorate. Located adjacent to the Ministry of Defence headquarters in central Nasser City, it is classified as a maximum security detention facility, serving two main purposes:

  1. as a remand (pretrial) centre, where military personnel accused of a crime or other serious dereliction of duty are held until sentencing; and,
  2. secure, often long-term detention of high-profile foreign nationals deemed a serious national security threat, including alleged terrorists and spies.
