The Canadian Aerospace Forces (CAF; French: Forces aéronautiques canadiennes, FAC) is one of the four primary service branches of the Canadian Forces (CF), responsible for both aerial and space warfare in defence of the national security and aerospace sovereignty of the Canadian Republic. With a total of 288,310 active-duty personnel and 132,450 reserve personnel, it is the third-largest of the Canadian Forces' four primary service branches, after the Army and Navy. Its headquarters is at CFB North Bay in Nipissing County, Ontario; it is named after the county seat and most populous municipality of North Bay, situated just east of the North Bay city limits within the municipality of Hornell Heights.
