The Central Region (Arabic: البلاد المركزي al-bilād al-markizī) is one of the four informal regions of the Arab Union. It is the smallest region, consisting of only three of the union's 20 republics: the Libyan Arab Republic, Sudanese Arab Republic], and the Egyptian Arab Republic. The latter republic, however (Egypt), is the most populous republic of the Arab Union, home to 110 million people or over a fifth of the union's total population.

The Central Region is also known as the "Nile River Region" (بلاد نهر النيل bilād nahr an-nīl), as the Nile passes through the two most populous of the region's three republics (namely, Egypt and Sudan). Sometimes, Libya is left out of this region and instead included in the Maghreb Region.
