The Communist Party of Canada (Marxist–Leninist) (CPC–ML; French: Parti communiste du Canada (Marxiste–Léniniste)), usually just referred to as the Communist Party of Canada (Parti communiste du Canada), is the ruling political party of the Canadian Republic. It currently holds 222 out of 338 seats in the House of Commons and 19 out of 27 in the Senate, making it the dominant party in both chambers of the Parliament of Canada. Its provincial and territorial branches currently form government in nine out of thirteen provinces and four out of five territories. Both the President of Canada and Prime Minister are senior CPC–ML members, the latter the current General Secretary of the Central Committee (the de facto Party leader).
