Jump to navigationJump to searchThe Council of Deputies (Rangyayo: 代表院 taibyoyan) is the lower chamber of the Parliament of Rangya; its upper chamber is the Senate. The Council of Deputies consists of 100 seats, each representing an electoral district of about 113,000 people. The Council of Deputies is responsible for electing the Prime Minister of Rangya, who leads the Cabinet of Rangya as head of government. The party or coalition holding the most seats in the Council of Deputies thus forms the executive, regardless of the political composition of the Senate. By contrast, proposed legislation passed by the Council of Deputies must then be passed by the Senate in order to become law.
