Deputy Minister of Interior

The Deputy Minister of Interior is a position unique to each of the 20 republics of the Arab Union, as well as the Kurdistan Autonomous Region and the Capital District, for a total of 22 Deputy Ministers of Interior; the latter Deputy Interior Minister responsible for the Capital District is also responsible for overseeing the Ministry of Interior's federal-level infrastructure. Each reports directly to the federal government's Minister of Interior and is responsible for overseeing the internal security apparatus of his/her respective area of jurisdiction.
