Deputy President of Nova Scotia

The Deputy President of Nova Scotia is the head of state of the Canadian province of Nova Scotia. The province's head of government and chief executive is the Premier of Nova Scotia.

While the office of Deputy President is primarily a ceremonial one, the Deputy President is considered the highest ranking office at the provincial level, and is responsible for granting honours to citizens and localities (such as presenting a medal of merit to a police officer or proclaiming a ceremonial county) as well as confirming the Premier of Nova Scotia on advice of the Nova Scotia House of Assembly, the provincial legislature
