The Galilee (Hebrew: הגליל hag-gālīl, Arabic: الجليل al-jalīl) is a subregion of the Levant in the Arab Union, located in southern Lebanon and northern Palestine. Traditionally divided into the Upper and Lower Galilee, it is located between the Jabal Amel region to the north and Jezreel Valley to the south, extending from the Coastal Plain along the eastern shores of the Mediterranean to the Upper Jordan Valley and Sea of Galilee, to the latter of which it lends its name.
