Golan Heights Winery
The Golan Heights Winery Ltd. Co. (Arabic: منبذة مرتفعات الجولان (شركة محدودة) is a winery based in the town of Kisrin, Golan Heights District, Syria, with active vineyards covering over 2.4 million. km2, making it one of the more successful wine growing operations in and around the Golan Heights area of southwestern Syria. While most of the vineyard's seasonal output is consumed in-country, mostly in Syria and the neighbouring republics of Jordan and Palestine, as well as Nasser City (the Capital District), an average year sees anywhere from 20 to 25% of output exported abroad, mostly to Western European countries and a much smaller share to North America. Considered one of the finest wineries in the Levant, exports return a pretty penny, and plans are likely underway to significantly expand the operation, such that the locals are kept happy by the same old turnover, with an eye to significantly expanding production and therefore export percentage—potentially turning this operation from a local, family-run business to a multi-billion-dollar per year liquor operation.
The current corporate headquarters of Golan Heights Winery is at 455 Khan el-Mayadeen Walk, opened soon after the winery started business in 2006. With this massive expansion project in the works, however, CEO Nora Azazmeh Jahalin and CFO Adnan Azazmeh Jahalin have set their sights on the top three floors of a recently developed 75-story mixed-use skyscraper built in the heart of Nasser City, positioned more or less equally between the two central stations. Constituting a "penthouse office", with the top two floors dedicated to the executive nest of the business and all that comes with it, and about half the third-from-the-top floor being divided down the middle–one half (the sun-facing half, of course) for the offices of lower-level employees and temps and misc. space–and the other half for whatever client decides to take it. The middle of the three floors (ie. the bottom building-wide floor) also features a northwest facing kitchenette for prepping food deliveries or unwinding via office party at the end of a grueling week. The entire building is owned by Jadilat Ghariza Properties, a reputable company in its industry.
