Greater Ottawa

Greater Ottawa (French: le Grand Ottawa) is a large metropolitan area located in Eastern Canada, centred on the city of Ottawa, the capital and fourth-most populous city in Canada, home to approximately 2.55 million people. Canada, officially the Canadian Republic, is a federation of 13 provinces and five territories, meaning all localities in the country are part of one of the provinces or territories, with the exception of Ottawa, which as the federal capital of Canada, is afforded special status as a federal district.

The remaining urban area of Greater Ottawa, which exists in Carleton County, Cornwall County and Rockland County in the province of Ontario and Gatineau County, Limbour County, Lucerne County and Beauchamp County in the province of Québec.
