List of upper-tier municipalities of British Columbia
The Canadian province of British Columbia (BC), like other Canadian provinces, uses a two-tiered system of local government. Counties and regional municipalities (informally regions) form the upper-tier municipalities, with each having a number of lower-tier municipalities which are incorporated as cities, towns, townships, etc. and usually unincorporated communities as well, which unlike incorporated lower-tier municipalities rely entirely on the respective upper-tier municipality (county or region) for the provision of all local government services. The upper-tier municipalities also function as the administrative divisions of the province. This article lists all upper-tier municipalities, ordered by population according to the 2021 census.
