The Maohi people (or less frequently, Maohi-Noki, to avoid confusion with the population of French Polynesia who sometimes refer to themselves as Māohi) are the indigenous population of the King Christian Islands of the South Pacific. In January 2024, their total population was estimated at 275,000, an estimated 25% of whom lived abroad. Their indigenous language is Maohi, and they are also typically proficient in Danish and English.
