Jump to navigationJump to searchMezzeh Prison (Arabic: سجن مزة sijn mazzah) is the largest prison in or near [[Damascus[], located in the nearby municipality of Mezzeh. It is a maximum-security civilian prison, and has sections for both female and male inmates. As of March 2021, Mezzeh Prison had 5503 male and 885 female inmates, for a total of 6388, making Mezzeh one of the largest prisons in the whole Arab Union. Mezzeh Prison is administered by the Corrections Directorate, an agency of the Syrian Ministry of Interior.
