The Middlesex County Police and Crime Commissioner, usually known colloquially as the PCC, is the elected civilian official in charge of the Middlesex County Police Board, the employer of the Middlesex County Police Service of Middlesex County, Ontario. The Middlesex County Police Board consists of the mayor of each municipality of Middlesex County as well as the chair of the Middlesex County Council; the Police Board elects an outside party to the office of Police and Crime Commissioner, who is responsible for the Police Board's executive leadership, while the Police Board is responsible for formulating overall policy.

The PCC regularly consults with the Chief Constable and/or Deputy Chief Constable of the Middlesex County Police, typically in regards to complex or highly public cases as well as public relations matters in general, and is supported by both the Senior Legal Counsel to the PCC and the Public Relations Counsel to the PCC, both of whom are appointed by the PCC and themselves appoint junior members of their respective offices.

The Police and Crime Commissioner maintains an office at the Middlesex County Council headquarters, and also has a smaller liaison office adjacent to the offices of the Chief Constable and Deputy Chief Constable at the Middlesex County Police headquarters.
