Jump to navigationJump to searchIn the Canadian Republic, a minister of the Crown is any politician appointed by an elected head of government to lead a particular executive department/ministry of a provincial, territorial or the Canadian federal government.
This terminology is similar to the practice of calling public prosecutors Crown counsel, based on the concept of "the Crown", which in Canadian constitutional law can be defined as "the state in all its aspects."
