The Ministry of Interior (Arabic: وزارة الداخلية wuzārat ad-dākhiliyah) is an executive department of the Governorate of Egypt. Responsible for overseeing all law enforcement and public security operations in the Egyptian Arab Republic, the Ministry of Interior also oversees certain aspects of public administration, including identification and vital statistics, supervision of domestic economic actors, political and non-governmental organisations, and coordinating informational resources across public jurisdictions.

The Egyptian National Police is the largest agency coming under the jurisdiction of Egypt's Ministry of Interior, numbering at approximately 280,000 personnel, including 255,000 sworn police constables. The Directorate of Public Data, the ministry's second largest agency, creates and stores public records and other data, including certificates of birth, death, change of name, marriage or divorce, property titles and deeds, education, certification and employment history; issues public photo ID cards; registers incorporation of businesses, charities and other corporate entities, mergers and acquisitions, public and private trusts and insurance policies; issues copies of records, titles, certificates, etc to authorised parties; and handles additional related responsibilities.

Appointed by and answerable to the Governor of Egypt, the Minister of Interior leads the ministry and appoints its other members, namely the Deputy Minister of Interior, the Director-General of the National Police, and twelve additional directors, each responsible for a particular ministry directorate. The Minister of Interior also appoints a handful of senior advisors and clerks; each director is responsible for appointing the staff of his own respective directorate.
