The Ministry of Justice, officially the Ministry of Justice and Attorney General of British Columbia, is the provincial justice ministry of the Canadian province of British Columbia (BC). It is led by the Attorney General of BC and his deputy, the Solicitor General of BC. The Ministry of Justice is responsible for the administration of justice in the province at the provincial level, most of which is handled by the BC Crown Prosecution Authority, which is led by the Crown Attorney of BC, the third-highest ranking member of the ministry after the Attorney General and Solicitor General. The Attorney General also oversees the British Columbia Provincial Police (BCPP) via the BC Police & Crime Commissioner. The area for which the Solicitor General is responsible, namely probation and parole, the BC Sheriff Service and BC Corrections, is often referred to as the Ministry of Solicitor General.
