The Naval Intelligence Directorate (Arabic: ادارة المخابرات البحرية idārat al-mukhābarāt al-baḥrīyah) is the military intelligence wing of the Arab Navy. It is organised as a directorate of the Ministry of Defence, however its military personnel are officially elisted members of the Navy with its civilian personnel mostly limited to agent handlers and support staff. Some of its major roles include providing SIGINT (signals intelligence) and counterintelligence for the Navy, assessing the naval capabilities of potential or actual enemy states, and infiltrating the ranks of enemy navies.
