Jump to navigationJump to searchThe Naval Reserve (Arabic: الاحتياطي البحري al-aḥtiyāṭī al-baḥrī) is the reserve component of the Arab Navy, the second largest service branch of the Union Defence Forces (the armed forces of the Arab Union). As of 2021, the Naval Reserve has a total of 508,330 personnel, 22% more than the Arab Navy's active service component. Reservists generally have a full-time occupation outside of the military (typically a career and/or raising a family), training with the Naval Reserve on a part-time basis; as a reserve force, they can be called upon for active duty when supplementary naval personnel are required due to complete wartime deployment of the Arab Navy.
