Neogen
Neogen (an initialism for New Energy Options General Corporation; Arabic: نيوجن – الجماعة العامة بخيارات جديدة للطاقة niyūjan – al-jamāʿah al-ʿāmah bi-khiyārāt jadīdah liṭ-ṭāqah) is an Arab multinational alternative energy firm, specialising in research and development (R&D) into new and experimental methods of power generation, storage and transmission, and commercial production of successful technology prototypes. Its activities encompass several ongoing R&D projects, as well as a shortlist of fully developed, commercially available products. The company monopolises use of its patented technology domestically and in competitive foreign markets, but leases usage rights for many products to entities active in other foreign jurisdictions. It is organised as a jamāʿah majhūlah (public company limited by shares), under 33% state ownership (government of the Arab Union) and 33% ownership by Aramaya Capital Group; the remaining 34% of shares are publicly listed on the Arab Securities Exchange (ABX) under the MENA×100 index.
Neogen's largest and arguably most successful project was the development of New Canaan Fusion Station (opened 2018), to date the world's only operational fusion power generating facility. It has also developed or is currently developing cutting-edge technologies in biogas, biofuel, marine current, osmotic, geothermal and enhanced geothermal power. It is ranked #89 of the Arab Union's 100 most profitable companies. It employs over 34,000 full-time personnel across Africa, Eurasia and the Americas, with its global headquarters in Jannat as-Sanjak, Nasseria.
