Ontario Civil Service Commission
The Ontario Civil Service Commission (OCSC; French: Commission de Service civil de l'Ontario, CSCO) is the organisation which, according to the Civil Service Act, 1949 of the Assembly of Ontario, is responsible for recruiting, training and providing all personnel required by the government services sponsored by the Ontario Executive Council, Ontario's provincial government. It has its headquarters at 2180 Yonge St, Midtown, Toronto.
All members of the Government of Ontario who are not elected politicians or directly-appointed by those politicians are either members of the Ontario Civil Service Commission, which places civil servants in different government roles according to merit and ability (such as Ministry bureaucrats, managers, etc.), or are employed directly by a particular government agency, but nonetheless receive protection and benefits as civil servants and are thus registered with the OCSC (such as police, firemen, medical personnel, heavy workers, transit operators, etc.).
