The Presidential Budget Committee (Arabic: لجنة الموازنة الرئاسية lajnat al-muwāzanah ar-ri’āsīyah) is a committee attached to the Presidential Executive Office of the Arab Union which is responsible for drafting and overseeing the budget of the President of the Arab Union and his administration. The Presidential Budget Committee drafts the presidential budget annually, which is submitted to the Presidium of the Arab Congress for approval; rejection of the budget by the Presidium requires a presidential executive order to approve the budget, which must then be reviewed by the Arab Congress at a plenary session before the submission of a subsequent presidential budget. If martial law or a state of emergency has been declared, the Presidential Budget Committee requires only the tacit approval of the president to implement a new budget.
