Rangyan name
From JSC Archives
Jump to navigationJump to searchThe Rangyan name is the naming convention used in Rangyayo, the language of the Kingdom of Rangya. Rangyan names consist of a surname and a given name and use the Eastern naming order, with the surname preceding the given name. Both typically consist of two syllables or characters, though some surnames are only a single character in length. Children traditionally take the surname of their father, though married women retain their premarital maiden name. While the surname-first order is used even in romanisation and English sources, Western-order names retain the surname-second order even in Rangyayo sources.
