The National Police, usually left untranslated as the Rigspolitiet, is the nationwide police force of the Danish Realm, responsible for all national security and national policing matters within the Kingdom of Denmark, the Faroe Islands and the Danish Antilles. The 11 prefectures of Denmark each have their own local civilian police agencies (prefectural police), as do each of the two autonomous territories (Faroe Islands and Danish Antilles).
