In the Lower Mainland Constabulary (LMC), the primary law enforcement agency in and around Vancouver, British Columbia (the Lower Mainland), the position of Tactical Firearms Commander is a temporary one which applies to ranking inspectors or higher with armed officer control training who assumes the realtime decisionmaking role regarding the use of lethal force in a police response involving firearms.

This position only applies to responses not involving the Startegic Firearms Command (SFC), the most heavily armed counterterrorism response team in the constabulary. The Strategic Firearms Commander by default is Tactical Firearms Commander in all police situations involving the SFC.
