Jump to navigationJump to searchThe Union Defence Industries (Arabic: صناعات الدفاع الاتحادي ṣināʿāt ad-difāʿ al-ittiḥādī) are an association of the seven largest domestic defence contractors of the Arab Union, each of which is a jamāʿah majhūlah (public company) under minimum 51% state ownership. The seven firms together provide virtually 100% of arms, vehicles and other military equipment to the Union Defence Forces, the armed forces of the Arab Union. The association is also the only entity licensed to export arms, which is a state monopoly. Its board of directors are appointed by the Minister of Defence.
