Kurdistan Autonomous Council

The Kurdistan Autonomous Council (Kurdish: Encûmena Xweser a Kurdistanê; Arabic: مجلس كُردستان الذاتي majlis kurdistān adh-dhātī) is the devolved unicameral legislature of the Kurdistan Autonomous Region within the Arab Union. Composed of 85 seats each representing an electoral district of relatively equal population, the council is directly elected every three years. It is responsible for appointing the Premier of Kurdistan, who leads the Kurdistan Autonomous Government. It meets in the Qishla of Kirkuk.
