Ministry of Health (Arab Union)
The Ministry of Health (Arabic: وزارة الصحة wuzārat aṣ-ṣaḥah) is an executive department of the federal government of the Arab Union, directly subordinate to the Council of Ministers. The Ministry of Health is responsible for overseeing the national healthcare system and regulating the pharmaceutical industry. As a federal department, the Ministry of Health manages a uniform healthcare apparatus across the federation, with practically no difference in practices or availability of treatment between the 20 union republics.
The Ministry of Health is headquartered in central Cairo, across El-Ittehad Boulevard from the Ministry of Social Security headquarters. Dr. Mosa el-Sarraj is the incumbent Minister of Health, in office since September 2010.

- National Health Authority (NHA): The agency which administers the national single-payer public health insurance system. All public hospitals and clinics as well as most healthcare infrastructure are owned and operated by the NHA, which answers to the Minister of Health through its chairperson.
