The National Security Authority (Arabic: سلطة الأمن الوطنية sulṭat al-aman al-waṭanīyah) is the Arab Union's federal public security agency, under the Presidential Executive Council. It is responsible for specific public safety, preventive and national security duties, not otherwise handled by police, military or related entities—including patrol of the international border, security of border crossings, other international points of entry, international airport, seaports, civilian (non-military) federal institutions and property, other sensitive installations, and maintenance of order during large state or other public events.
