Jump to navigationJump to searchIn the Kingdom of Denmark, each of its 11 prefectures has its own prefectural police (Danish: præfekturepoliti), which handles all regular and routine civilian law enforcement activities within the respective prefecture. The Rigspolitiet (National Police) handles all other issues of national security and public security which affect the Kingdom of Denmark or Danish Realm as a whole. Each of the Danish Realm's two autonomous territories (the Faroe Islands and Danish Antilles) also each have their own territorial police force responsible for all local civilian policing like the Kingdom's prefectural police.
