Jump to navigationJump to searchThe Special Committee for Internal Affairs (Arabic: اللجنة الخاصة للشؤون الداخلية al-lajnah al-khāṣah lish-shuʾūn ad-dākhilīyah) was an agency of the Council of Ministers of the Arab Union, and the final predecessor of the contemporary Joint Security Committee (colloquially known as the Emni). It existed from 1969 to 1975, when its responsibilities were absorbed by the Emni which had just been established that year. It handled all domestic counterintelligence and special internal security matters not falling under the purview of the Ministry of Interior.
