Alice Athan

Alice Athan (b. 20 February 1980 in Vancouver) is a police officer with the Lower Mainland Constabulary currently holding the rank of chief superintendent, to which she was promoted in 2014. Since April 2016, Chief Superintendent Athan has been commanding officer of Internal Affairs, Unit 5 (IA5) based out of Port Moody Station.

Biography[edit | edit source]

Athan was born in 1980 to an immigrant Thai lawyer and a Canadian-born mother of Danish descent. She graduated in 1998 from Vancouver Technical Secondary School (Van Tech), and went on to study criminology at Simon Fraser University (SFU). Athan graduated from SFU in 2003 with a BA majoring in criminology, and in 2004 was accepted into Kennedy Police Academy, the main training academy for recruits into the Lower Mainland Constabulary. She began her training at the academy in September 2004, and graduated as a police constable in February 2005.
