In the judicial system of the Kingdoms of Kilmark and Killarney, which together form the dual monarchy and sovereign state of Kilmark–Killarney, each county (the upper tier of local government in each kingdom) has its own county court (Killarne: ghuírlæs ciæmtea; Killian: chairlais chónntea). County courts function as the primary trial courts and the court of first instance of their respective county; verdicts may be appealed in the Court of Appeal and finally in the Supreme Court. Cases affecting more than one county which are not serious enough to be heard by the Supreme Court are instead held by a "national tribunal", an itinerant, temporary court with national jurisdiction which typically operates out of a convenient county courthouse, whose verdicts may also be appealed in the same manner as those of the county courts.
