The Federal Prosecution Authority (Arabic: سلطة المحاكمة الفدرالية sulṭat al-muḥākamah al-fidrālīyah) is the main agency of legal prosecution at the federal level in the Arab Union, directly answerable to the Attorney General of the Arab Union. The vast majority of civil and criminal cases in the Arab Union are handled at the republican level, with the Federal Prosecution Authority only concerning itself with cases affecting two or more republics or the union as a whole. As the only two permanent federal courts are the Supreme Court of the Arab Union and the Arab Union Court of Appeals, the Federal Prosecution Authority primarily prosecutes its cases before one or both of these courts, although either court may form temporary federal tribunals as well, often in different locations throughout the union.
