Jump to navigationJump to searchThe Mayor of the Toronto Metropolis (French: Maire/Mairie de la Métropole de Toronto) is the mayor (head of government) of Toronto, the most populous city in Canada and capital of the province of Ontario. The Mayor of Toronto is directly elected by the voting-age citizens of Toronto every four years, and may serve an unlimited amount of consecutive terms. The Mayor of Toronto appoints the members of the Toronto Metropolitan Council, the city's top executive and administrative body, each of whom chairs a particular executive department of Toronto's municipal government.
