The Toronto Metropolitan Council (TMC; French: Conseil métropolitain de Toronto, CMT) is the top executive and administrative body and municipal government of the Toronto Metropolis, the most populous city in Canada and capital of the province of Ontario. The TMC is chaired by the Mayor of Toronto, who is responsible for appointing its members, officially known as councillors. Each councillor chairs a particular executive department of Toronto's municipal government.
