The Vancouver Metropolitan Rapid Transit Company, doing business as MetroVan, is a Canadian transportation company which operates three rapid transit lines in the Lower Mainland, the most populous region of British Columbia, one of Canada's 12 provinces. MetroVan currently operates three highly-reliable and well-rated rapid transit lines, all three of which run 24/7, 365 days of the year, namely the Granville Line, Burrard Line and the Fraser Line; MetroVan, which is owned by Johnsen & Associates Holding Company, is the private competitor to TransLink, the publicly-funded metropolitan transportation authority of the Lower Mainland, which runs three rapid transit lines of its own as well as all bus routes in the seven counties of the Lower Mainland. The Burrard Line and Fraser Line can be considered new route innovations, but the Granville Line operates more or less as a direct competitor to Translink's Canada Line, as both lines terminate at Waterfront Station in Vancouver and provide essentially direct access to Vancouver International Airport.
