Rami Hamdallah

Dr. Rami Rubeid bin Rami Youssef Hamdallah (Arabic: الدكتور رامي ربيد بن رامي يوسف حمد الله; b. 1 May 1977 in Nablus) is a Palestinian politician and former psychiatrist who has served as Vice President of the Arab Union since 23 May 2023. From 2018 to mid-2022 Hamdallah served as one of two representatives of the Palestinian Arab Republic in the Council of Republics (the upper house of the Arab Congress), alongside Rania Sawafet. Before entering politics, Hamdallah served from 2004 to 2018 with the National Health Authority as a psychiatrist, working mostly at Hammamia Psychiatric Hospital in Khastakhanat al-Ayatallah, Nasseria (2007 to 2018); he also spent nearly three years working in the emergency psych unit of Waqf Hospital in central Nasseria before being recognised for his skills and transferred to Hammamia.
