The Governor General of the Danish Antilles (Danish: Danske Antillers Generalguvernør) is the viceregal representative of the Danish monarch (currently Margrethe II) in the Danish Antilles, one of the three constituent countries of the Danish Realm, of which the monarch is head of state. All acts of the Parliament of the Danish Antilles are signed into law by the Governor General on behalf of the Danish monarch, and the Prime Minister of the Danish Antilles is formally appointed by the Governor General. The Governor General of the Danish Antilles has no set term limit, instead serving at her majesty's pleasure, although it is typical for a new Governor General to be chosen every ten years. Once in office, the Governor General of the Danish Antilles maintains direct, personal contact with the Queen of Denmark, and has an official residence in the capital of Christiansby on the Danish Antilles' island of Marquesa as well as in Copenhagen.
