Jump to navigationJump to searchIlyas Mosa (Arabic: إلياس موسى إبراهيم مارقوس; b. 31 October 1969 in Jericho) is a Palestinian politician and intelligence officer, who since 2014 has served as Chairman of the Joint Security Committee, holding the rank of general. Mosa is also Deputy Secretary of the National Command of the Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party, answering to National Secretary and Arab Union President Bashar al-Assad. Before joining the Ba’ath Party in 2000, he worked as an air traffic controller at Port Said International Airport, before which he served in the officer corps of the Arab Air Force from 1988 to 1999.
