A ministry (Arabic: وزارة wuzārah; pl. وزراء wuzarā) is a cabinet-level executive department within the federal government of the Arab Union or the government of one of the union's 20 republics (federated states). Ministries are headed by a minister, who is a member of his/her government's respective Council of Ministers and thus answers to the head of government (the Prime Minister at the federal level or Premier at the level of a republic). The responsibilities of a ministry are typically divided between multiple directorates, each headed by a director who is appointed by and answers to a minister.

The federal government has a second category of cabinet-level executive departments, called state committees, which differ from ministries mostly in terms of increased jurisdictional flexibility and a pragmatic (goal-oriented) as opposed to administrative role.
