The National Public Health Directorate (NPHD) is an agency of the Arab Union federal government, subordinate to the Ministry of Health. It is the country's premier national public health agency, responsible for leading the federal government's public health efforts as well as advising other federal agencies on public health-related issues. One of the primary duties of the NPHD is research and development of public health policy, and the directorate has the authority to recommend and in certain cases enforce policy across governmental, public and private institutions and enterprises.

The NPHD has its headquarters in Ibrahimia on El-Bindkeya Boulevard, adjacent to the headquarters of the National Disease Control Directorate (NDCD). The NPHD and NDCD together function as leader of the national response to major public health crises, including pandemics and other outbreaks as well as man-made crises.
